Why everyone keeps coming back.

Oliver Brown is a standout café nestled in the heart of Canberra’s vibrant Bunda Street, offering a delightful blend of indulgent treats and expertly crafted beverages that appeal to both locals and visitors alike. This café is a haven for those who appreciate the art of sweet indulgence paired with expertly brewed coffee, making it an ideal spot for casual meetups, afternoon treats, or simply a moment of blissful escape.

The menu at Oliver Brown is a treasure trove of luscious flavors, anchored by an impressive selection of crepe indulgences that are true show-stoppers. From the decadently smooth Cookies and Cream Crepe to the tropical sweetness of the Frutti Crepe, each dish promises a sensory journey. The Strawberry Churros and Baked Churros offer a refreshing twist on a classic favorite – notably baked instead of fried, ensuring a lighter yet satisfyingly crisp texture that delights the palate. Chocolate lovers will appreciate the Fondue for Two, featuring fresh strawberries, bananas, marshmallows, banana bread, and pretzels, paired with rich chocolate shots, creating a playful and indulgent sharing experience.

Complementing these are the café’s cool and creative cold beverages. The Blueberry Yoghurt Smoothie and Mango Passion Fruit Crush are vibrant, invigorating blends that burst with fresh, fruity flavors while the Sneaky Snickers and Pink Choc thick shakes offer satisfying sweetness for those seeking a decadent treat. Coffee aficionados will find their match with expertly made classics, from rich, velvety cappuccinos to refreshing iced coffee and refreshing iced chai lattes. These drinks are crafted with precision and care, often presented with delicate coffee art that reflects the passion behind every cup.

The atmosphere of Oliver Brown is warm, welcoming, and infused with a genuine friendliness that keeps customers coming back. Multiple reviews celebrate the staff’s infectious positivity and attentive service. Ally B highlights the “happy staff and friendly vibe,” noting the youthful energy of the team and their sincere customer focus. Esther Hew praises the efficient service and excellent coffee quality, while Aashmika Varma appreciates the café’s late hours and beautifully presented cappuccino. The setting offers both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for a quiet moment or catching up with friends amidst Canberra’s bustling cityscape.

One cannot help but sense the thoughtful balance Oliver Brown strikes between quality, comfort, and value. The reasonably priced meal deals, such as the bacon & egg roll with coffee, offer hearty satisfaction while the more indulgent sweet options invite moments of guilty pleasure. Hansraj B’s review aptly captures the experience: “Good ambience. Great selection of beverages and ice cream options. Must try the heavenly hot chocolate... a wonderful experience.” This perfectly encapsulates the café’s ability to make visitors lose themselves in time as they savor every bite and sip.

Dropped by yesterday for a coffee and was bowled over by the happy staff and friendly vibe. I noted some young staff members, possibly in their first jobs, with a real customer friendly attitude. Good on the owners of the cafe for creating this nice space - the coffee was good too!

Ordered a bacon & egg roll with coffee deal for $13.90 as my coffee were double shots. Usually it’s $12.90 Not bad considering the size & quality of food for the price on offer. Banana bread was quite yummy too! Service was friendly & drinks & food was served in a timely manner even though they were busy. Coffee was so good that we ordered another to go after our meal.

Always crossed this café in civic and also realised this is one of the few cafés in Canberra open till late! Loved my cappucino, it was so well presented with coffee art and tasted really good. We got a brownie as well and it was exactly how I like my brownies - fudgy and chocolatey!

Best hot chocolate I've ever had! I'm not usually a hot chocolate fan, but theirs was rich, delicious, and not overly sweet. The churros with dark chocolate and strawberries were also very nice. The staff were lovely and provided excellent service. Love the decor and cosy atmosphere. Great location. Highly recommend!

Dark Chocolate Belgian mocha was nice and rich tasting. The hot chocolates were normal. The OB crepe was nice. The seating area was a bit cramped, and we wished there was more cake options. Everything was a reasonable price. Overall, it was nice but nothing special.
